Our vacation in the Dominican Republic's with capital Santo Domingo begins on 28th March 2008. After 10 hour flight from Germany we land at the International Airport of Punta Cana. Incidentally, the Dominican Republic takes about two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola, Haiti is rest. Now we do the entry formalities. Actually, we need only to passport control, the entry card, we need not to be feared, which we have already received from the tour operator, when we compiling a package tour booked our holiday were issued. The nice lady from the tour operator is waiting at the exit and we start transfer to Bayhibe. Our transfer to Bayahibe is approximately 1.5 hours. We have booked the Hotel Sunscape Casa del Mare, now the hotel is named Dreams La Romana. Here we spend two beautiful weeks with a lot of sunshine, crystal clear Caribbean sea, white sand and much much more cocktails. We live like gods. The service at the hotel is good, the staff a little slow (no problem, we are on vacation), but much more friendly. Our room is in the 4th floor. From eight o clock in the morning to eight o clock in the evenig evera day ther was the noise from the construction site from ground floor. There was not hot water in the morning and the same in the evening on 12 from 14 days, no problem, dont worry be happy. Incidentally ...cold water makes fresh and is good against cellulite. We think that now have to get a grip, although not as Sunscape Casa del Mar, but surely as Dreams La Romana, construction is finish.Our holiday on the south coast of the Dominican Republic is finish after 14 days. The most important industries and the major export products of the country are sugar, coffee, and tobacco. On our journey we see much sugar cane plantations, cane is mainly in the Southeast grown. 60% of the sugar industry fall to major state enterprises, 30% of the plantations include U.S. companies and only 10% will be operated from Dominican families. The mid-eighties started to boom in tourism and is still one of the major foreign exchange of the Dominican Republic. The country is one of the cheapest destinations in the Caribbean. During our trip we can from afar recognize a mountain chain. The Dominican Republic has many forests, fertile valleys and plains. Among other things, is the highest survey of the country of Pico Duarte over 3000 meters high and therefore the highest mountain in the Antilles. We will pass small villages and settlements and we are approaching the city Higüey it is the capital of the province of Altagracia. The landscape is green and the ride takes you past herds of goats, small houses in the typical Caribbean colors are painted, past construction sites and gravel pits. After two hours we are on target. The H10 Ocean Blue Golf & Sand Resort at Playa Bavaro. This hotel, we have for our vacation, not selected, but unfortunately it is our desire Hotel Grand Palladium Bavaro completely overbooked.
